In order to plan great tours for students, I also travel frequently to colleges across the country - checking out unique facilities and experiences I think students would love to see. The beginning of Fall, I toured several colleges with Campanile's Associate Consultant, Doria Charlson: Brown, Yale, Wesleyan, University of Rhode Island, and the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O'Neal Center . The highlight of our trip was a full-day private tour of the Yale School of Drama given by a 2nd year MFA student in Costume Design. Our guide, Annie, took us on a backstage tour of the Yale Repertory Theatre and explained all the various programs within the famed School of Drama. We toured all of Yale's theaters, prop shop, design studios, sewing rooms, costume shop, and classrooms. We learned how shows get staged, and how students are assigned to work on different performances throughout the year. At the end of the day, we spent time browsing the shops at York Square.
